i have what i hope is a simple question. this is the first time i have setup my own server by myself so let me tell you what iv done and see if someone would tell me if iv missed something or done something wrong.
im setting up my sites on my server i have the 2k server with ensim i went into ensim and setup the domain name i added it under name based site, i then put it in under configure DNS/BIND name server, i then went to myserver beach.com and added my domain name in the dns tool using the master option, i then went to my register company and updated the dns info to ns1.geodns.com and ns2.geodns.com. with me using name based hosting is this the correct way to setup it up? im sorry to ask such a beginer question but this is the steps i have never done.

It should work. Give it from 24 to 48 hours to go into effect. DNS changes take that long to filter though the Internet.

Now, as long as you pointed your domain name to your server IP in the myserverbeach.com DNS tool, it should resolve to your machine. What you should do in about 24 hours is to do a ping on your server name and see if it resolves to your IP. If that's good then open a browser and see if your default page comes up. If your IP is working by pinging your domain name, but you can't get a webpage, then your configuration is wrong on the control panel you are using (I find it more flexible to use the MMC snap-in to configure the website).

MMC = Microsoft Management Console

Start > Run > type "mmc" and hit ENTER
