Backup Restore

Ok basically im changing servers i downloaded a backup file from my old sites cpanel now i need to upload it and restore it onto my server beach server. I think i can upload it via ftp (its big so uploading it via cpanel doesnt exactly turn out) then use my shell access to restore it.

Am i right and if i am what would the shell commands be?

why would you want to ftp all that info from a cpanel backup and or use SSH.

Backups created by cpanel and whm are in .tar.gz files

you can login to your WHM root acocunt and upload the .tar.gz files directly from WHM.

And if your old server is still live you can provide the new server with your old servers username and password and it will do it via that way to.


that is the easiest way to do it.
