DNS tool & MX records

I used the SB DNS tool to add my domain. No problem. I have been able to send and receive email fine, however I noticed in the SB DNS tool there are "no associated MX records" with my domain. I thought this was added automatically.

What are the implications of not having an MX record in the SB DNS tool given the fact I can send and receive. Maybe I'm not receiving all that I should. I don't know. I'm confused.

ServerBeach's DNS Tool does not do this automatically.

It is a good idea to have an MX record for each domain you plan on sending mail to. Some SMTP servers will not send mail to a domain without an MX record.
