Disk Quota Errors with Ensim/new kernel

RedHat recently released a security fix for new exploits in the Linux kernel. Advisory RHSA-2003:172-23

https://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2003-172.html

Apparently this kernel causes trouble with quota in RedHat 7.3. If you install and use the new kernel then quotas will not work properly on RedHat 7.3. See bug filed at bugzilla.redhat.com:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=90939

If you do not install the kernel, then your system may be vulnerable to Denial of Service attack.

Ensim engineers are analyzing this problem and at this time we can not make a recommendation on if you should upgrade to the security fix or wait until quota issue is resolved.

If you are trying to install WEBppliance Pro and your kernel version is 2.4.20-13.7, then you will need to downgrade your kernel to 2.4.18-27.7.x which can be found at ftp://ftp2.ensim.com/apt/redhat/7.3/en/i386/RPMS.kernel if you can not find at other mirrors.

*Update*

RedHat has released an updated kernel which fixes this issue. Refer to this RedHat errata for the fix:

https://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2003-187.html

*Update #2*

Its been determined that this kernel while fixes quotas (which the original kernel broke) this kernel introduces a new set of quota commands (which is why you need to update the quota RPM) while it disables the support for the older command set. Ensim will include a fix this in the next release to address this issue.

So basically you choose between security or performance. I will push you in neither direction.
