As recommended (http://serverbeach.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1361) by QT, I'm curious to know more about the possibility of other payment options.

Currently the FAQ (http://www.serverbeach.com/catalog/faq.php#2) states the following:

ServerBeach accepts Visa,MasterCard, and American Express. At this time, we do not accept checks, EFT, Bank Wires.
Due to current employment, I don't have the capacity to get a credit card myself, and rely on my roommate to pay for the server (I give him cash, he bills it).

I would like to move to another city, but cannot because I cannot lose my server.

Does SB have any future plans for alternate (Money orders, wire transfers, paypal) means of payment?

This would help me greatly, and enable more payment for me.

I think it would be good to have a feature of doing an auto withdrawll from a bank account or the ability to pay in advance like 6 months or a full year at a time.

I believe ACH is in the works, but I have no idea how soon it would be available. PayPal is suggested about every 2 months then a couple weeks later there is a big story how someone had thousands of dollars seized by PayPal for no reason. Since PayPal isn't a banking institution, they are not held to the same standards as banks or credit card companies. Definitely not a place that a company would want to depend on for what could potentially be tens of thousands of dollars in revenue.

ACH and wire transfers would probably be the most likely candidates for new billing methods.

I know many businesses would love it if ACH was available. We would.

It's like an automated checking account withdrawl. You have your payment automatically withdrawn from your personal checking account on a monthly basis.

Automated Clearing House. Its basically a direct withdraw from your account. Its the same process for direct deposite of a paycheck.

edit: Thats twice today I'm too slow on the draw ^ :-)

Perfect! Danke both!

Knightfoo, what about wire transfers, or money orders...? Or perhaps a server beach account to deposit into....? Any idea how soon something like that would be available....?

Hopefully, the ACH plan will come out shortly. Not only will it benefit current customers, it'll also be a big attraction for potential customers I think.

Ooooh! I didn't know that's what you were looking for! OK...

Oh, I don't know...probably sometime next year.

There. Of course, that doesn't hold any ground because I'm not a ServerBeach employee. But you got what you were looking for plus a grin! :D

Better than being a dumb*** :P

<EDIT>That was not directed at anyone. I am merely stating that I'd rather be a smart*** than a dumb***. </EDIT>

I would like that, I tend to give my clients a discount if they pay me annually (or charge extra for other payment schedules, which ever side of the coin you prefer to look at)-- this keeps billing/accounting simple for me and I get paid in advance. Worth any discount I give. Just thought I would "second" the yearly or 6-month pre-pay idea.

Back from the dead!!

Any idea if ACH will happen any time soon? We are about to add another server to our business, and using personal credit cards is getting bothersome.

BTW, I also have a VISA debit card tied to my business checking, my bank gave it to me free, although I don't really use it. Could be another option for you...

Our bank does not offer a debit card with our business account, and credit cards are nice, but our only expense right now is here :-) . I don't want to get a business credit card, which does costs some money, if SB is going to have ACH .

I can see you would prefer ACH, but just FYI there are plenty of business credit cards with no annual fees or any other costs beyond those standard on a personal credit card. As long as you pay off the balance in full, on time, every month, it costs you nothing. (Also I pay my bill online/electronically so I don't even have to buy stamps).

just a few examples.

serverbeach is sctually one of only three services/companies that are billed to my business card every month. IMO credit is better because you have recourse if some company tries to screw you out of something you paid for (been there). Also you don't have to worry as much about overdrafts due to billing errors (again, been there :()

Cheers :)

We are currently discussing plans to accept other forms of payment (cashiers checks/money orders to start and possible pre-pays). I don't have an ETA for this, but I wanted you guys to know that we are working on it. :)

Keep your eyes on the Beach Watch forum in the upcoming months. There will be some news there regarding ... more new offerings! :D
