I am about to download and install Debian here at home base
for testing purposes. I see that there are 7 ISO files to download.

My question is, do I need to download all 7 for the install or are
the last couple source disks?

The purpose of this will be to run a Linux distrib as a
SpamAssassin gateway for my mail server. Possibly with other
server apps if it becomes useful. If successful, I will be purchasing
another server/2 here at SB.

Any thoughts on any of these matters would be helpful.

I believe you only need the first couple of ISO's.

Infact, I only have the 1st ISO, but I only installed a simple base system, then use apt-get to install everything after that through the network.

JonTrainer is correct. You only need the first two ISO's. Debian is an easy OS to manage/use, regardless of all the hype of it being "complicated" or "it's hard to find control panels/enterprise apps"...both misleading. The apt-get feature is probably the best package management system of any distrobution (of course, that's just my opinion).
I'm sure you'll have success with Debian, and if not..you know we're always around to help. :)
