View Full Version : Will SB create reverse DNS entry for additional IP addresses?

Hi all, new customer here with a quick question. There's probably a FAQ somerwhere that answers it, but I'm being lazy and posting here in hopes of some kind soul answering.

Basically, I'm wanting to confirm that SB will create reverse DNS entries as I order additional IP addresses for my server? We're hosting our own DNS, so I won't be using the DNS tool, I'll just need reverse DNS entries for our customers who need a static IP for SSL.

Thanks!

ServerBeach sets up PTR records. Just to note, for future reference (and so you're not too suprised if you see a not so nice comment):
Laziness doesn't get you very far on the forums. ;)

QT, appreciate the info! And hey, laziness worked this time, didn't it? I'll note that for future reference though :) I did at least run a search on the forums, which didn't turn up much.

It worked this time, because most of the time I'm a "kind soul"..and you stated you were 'new' hence the warning. You might not get so lucky in the future. ;) For the most part, we're all here to help each other and you can always come here for help when you can't figure something out. We have some great knowledgeable people here on the forums. :)

Lazyness is also contagious so those who could help might get a case of it and just not want to put forth the effort to help.

Ha ha. :)

You guys don't have to worry, I'm a software developer/sysadmin type who's been doin' this sort of thing for many years. You'll find that over time, I'll give a whole lot more than I'll take, I'm no leech.

I'm just new to Server Beach (only because our "other" provider couldn't supply us with Windows servers fast enough), and had a simple question, that's all.

I guess I shouldn't have been honest and admitted I was being lazy, then maybe you wouldn't be giving me such a hard time?

I didn't mean to come across as giving you a hard time, I apologize if I did. :)

Welcome to ServerBeach. :)
