Interesting.. the default install on the RH 8 power server has broken php. This is with a cpanel installation by the way. Any one here have experience in getting it to work? My httpd.conf's keep running into issues and I'm growing pretty frustrated with it. Incidently.. I've had a ticket open for over a week about this.

What sort of error messages are you getting? Are you able to view php pages? Also what isuses are you having with the httpd.conf and have you tried a syntax check?

Unresolved symbols when I do include the php4 modules... It refuses to actually execute php.. Just treats it as a file to download. I'd figure on the default install of RH8 you'd want php working... lol

It looks like a bad .so library file. Have you tried recompiling / installing php w/ sql etc to update the .so file? That usually works for me when I run into problems like this.

That was the plan except for the fact that I'm basically acting as the webmaster for a client and per their instructions and the warnings on the contract with server beach they did not want me adding software, recompiling software, etc.... I had planned on recompiling apache and php and going from there but I believe the idea is to keep it rpm based for "ease" of upgrading later. Should be a ticket open on it I believe.

I'll go and look for your ticket and get an update on it for you. The techs working on it should be getting back to you real soon.
