newbie question

after getting you control panell set up what is the main dir for the home page
example var/www/html ?

As far as you question about the root, it's probably...
/usr/local/apache/htdocs

Also, if you have a standard site or want all new sites you create to have certain files, place those files in the following folder...
/root/cpanel3-skel/public_html

When you create a new account, it will copy whatever files are there and put them in the public_html folder of your new account.

Well I checked out this responce and the other link
Im not understanding this
In cpanel i log in with the user name and password that server beach gave me and i see public_html and all the other files in the account

But when i log into the WHM account and look for users my name that i got for cpanel dosnt show
My qusetion is should I Create a new account with the domain that the server ip is.

when i type in mydomain.com it points to
usr/local/apache/htdocs
