lilo?

Hi there, we run a couple of debian servers on serverbeach, the boxes are due for some scheduled downtime requiring a kernel upgrade and then a reboot, the only problem is that our servers had grub installed by default, but we removed grub in favour of lilo which we are alot more at ease with.

My question is though, if I reboot the server will it come back up (using lilo) or will it crash and die horribly?.

If you configred LILO properly then it should reboot with no problem. Of course if it is misconfigured and someone needs to work on it, GRUB may be reinstalled to get the server online. Personally I think it is worthwhile to learn GRUB, it is a much more powerful boot loader.
