If I switch my current web server which runs Win2000, to Win2003, can you do all that and keep my data? or do I have to resignup and redo all my sites etc...

I was told that you need to backup all your data, a OS reload is then done (at a charge 30$ i think it was) and then you restore your data. I asked the day win2003 was available, it could have changed by now but thats unlikely.

I recommend that a week before you next billing cycle you order a new Windows 2003 Server. This will give you a week to migrate your sites, and make sure that all sites are working correctly. Then just take and cancel your current windows 2000 server the last day of your current billing cycle. This is what I did that way I was able to migrate my customers and our sites with very little down time. Also that way if there was an issue I could go ahead and stay on the 2000 server if they 2003 server was not working for me. That way all I was out was the one month.

Thank You

At the launch of 2003 I decided I would risk this. I contacted Roger and was informed that they do a complete install, not upgrade. I created a zip backup and ftp'd it to my house.

It took SB about 1 hour to transform this 2K drive to 2003. Well worth it.

The only problem I have found with 2003 is MySQL and PHP does not run well at all. PHP is working to patch this.

Thanks
Chris
