Is anyone else (cpanel users) seeing problems with the RPM software library right now? I'm getting the following error, and don't know if it's just me:

Select packages to install Error 404 while fetching url http://updates.cpanel.net//pub/rpminstall/redhat-8.0/updates.db

I'm also seeing the following when I log inot WHM:

Unable to fetch Web Host Manager news. The News server may be down or unreachable.

--I need to install gd library or imagemagick... I'm assuming that they are listed as RPM software.

you should check out your server, maybe you cannot resolve domain names.. go to a shell and try to ping something by name and see if you get an ip...

i'm not sure if gd is listed as an rpm package, but i'm pretty sure that imagemagick is not... try using...
http://www.rpmfind.net (right now it says too many connections, just try using not using the search and browse the database instead then)

however, just so you know, it's usually always a good idea to go to the author site to get the latest, stable, most bug free, most secure version that's available for most software out there.

I had that happen and it was because the named service wasn't running on my server.

I've just re-started bind and added it back via service manager. I had disabled it when I was having dns issues.

I'll go and check out rpmfind.com for the latest versions, however, I'm not sure how to install it without having it in my cpanel tool... but... I'll figure it out eventually.

see my post regarding the cpanel redirect telling me that the product isn't properly licensed. I know that is bs but what the hay... sitting here wondering what fiddly nonsense I have to deal with now...

Any help will be greatly appreciated..

thanks

my problem is fixed. It was a result of an incorrect resolver configuration.

Correct IP's should be (if you are using SB as the nameserver):

127.0.0.1, 66.139.77.6, and 66.139.77.22.

"Hi John,
Your server was not in our list of cpanel licenses. It has now been
added. If you are still having license issues, please let us know. "

One thing however is that my nameserver config is not right according to your message. I am going to try to config it as per yours to see if it solves other problems. Many thanks Hoover.
