For a living I mean!
Are you a student? A full time web host? A secret government spy?
Personally, I do independant computer/network/website contract work. I also work with two friends and together we run a webhosting company that uses SB servers.
What about the rest of you guys?

i'm curious what QT and Knightfoo does besides reside on these boards and graciously help everyone.
personally, i manage IT for a public company. i have no artistic skills, but it doesn't stop me from trying to build web sites which is why i have this server. i own a bunch of domain names and never did anything with it, so i'm finally building it out and hosting some friends. i've never really used unix or linux, so this was a good start. =T

I think knightfoo works for SB. In fact, I'm pretty sure he does.

I do work for ServerBeach :) I've been with the company since the beginning (one of the original 5) and have had a chance to see the company grow through good times and bad. I have 8 years of experience building and running Linux systems for various applications, 5 years professionally and the last 3 in the dedicated hosting industry. I program mostly in Perl and bash, but I know a little C and C++ (just enough to be dangerous). My distribution of choice is Debian, though most of my industry experience has been with RedHat and I do have my RHCE. I think I've used just about every major distribution that has been around since 1995.
I like the idea of having forums where users can help each other, which is why I don't mind spending my time on here helping out. Not only does it keep people from asking support the same questions over and over, it gives everyone a sense of community and makes the relationship with the company and other users seem more real.

Well to start off, I can tell you that I don't work for ServerBeach. :)
I've went from being a BSD/Solaris admin for several years to Digital Biometrics. I've been in the tech field for over 10 years (and a diehard Debian user ;)). I now work from home and help out on here when I can. :)

I posted a reply to this (sort of) in the thread titled "Jobs". I must be getting lazy in my old age or something. :)

hehe.. not to seem too dense, but i know knight works at sb (it's sort of obvious =] ), i meant what he does there and what his background is, obviously he's more than just a customer service rep that answers questions in the forums.
hey knight... is your friend opticon also one of the original 5? ok spill it... SB is run by only 5 overworked people who have since abandoned their lives and live inside of a data center, right?? =P

I'm a self employed web consultant specializing in installations, modifications and integrations for UBB.Threads forum software.
And I host several of my clients sites on my server beach servers. :D

I own and am the main technical geek for www.allprosoftware.com, a sports stats and scheduling software company. I recently switched us over to serverbeach from a shared hosting company which provided terrific features, but didn't have 24/7 support. Also their download speeds were very inconsistent. I've had much better throughput here and having root access is great.
