I'm trying to decide upon a Linux server to host Tomcat/Java Servlet and MySQL based web sites. I have experience with Red Hat but am not happy with the 6mos of updates policy they have now moved to.

I am seriously considering Debian, for the cost and long term version stability factors.

Are there any issues with running Java-based servers with Debian? I assume that everything would be fine, but I just want to be sure before committing to one of these servers.

Any comments/advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Definealy go with Debian if you want to host a Tomcat/Java site. Look up my recent posts and follow the threads to see a decent explaination as to why. If you have any thoughts give me a shout.
