View Full Version : Introduction
Monsoonstorm

Hi, I am a new Serverbeach customer and moved my client accounts from a place that had a forum identical to this one. It was by far one of the most valuable tool for support. I was wondering if Serverbeach would do the same and BOOM! My wish came true. I hope all of you will get as much valuable use out of it as I have in the past.
In any case, I started this thread for customers to introduce one another so I'll start.
My name is Monsoonstorm (username) and I run a Computer/Internet business that specializes in website management. I work out of Fountain Hills, Arizona and am a 2 week old customer of Serverbeach. So far, I have conquered all set up roadblocks and everything is running silky smooth.

ok, I am dcondem I run pretty much the same thing. I do the webstuff part-time, hopefully I will get more and more clients and be too busy :)
Here is my URL http://www.conderman.com/
Every site I work on now I host. It makes it sooo much easier then having all my clients signup for hosting with other people then sending me the username/passwords and junk. Plus my old host he.net ended up in the SpamCops cross hairs so I wanted to secure my own little corner of the internet. Sort of like renting for awhile, then now buying my first starter home.
Right now I am just working hard on learning all the in's and out's of SQL and PHP. My next task to conquer will bee all the new "Liquid Layout" stuff with CSS. Movable Type uses it and not knowing it makes me sad. Dang, just when I know every trick to HTML tables there was to layout a page, now something new comes along.

My Name is Ken I am a software engineer by trade and like to make websites in my spare time. A list of some of my websites are shown in my signiture.
I decided to move to serverbeach when I decided to take my little hobby and try to make it a part time business. I have one pretty good website that gets about 115,000 unique visitors a month. I am planning on redesigning the whole thing so that I can get into the 250,000 - 1,000,000 range, my current design and setup is currently limiting my growth. I also decided to write some Amazon affiliate stores to see if I can make some money that way. I am hoping to consolidate all of my sites onto one or two server beach servers to save money.
Some of my programming interests are
Perl, PHP, Java, XML, and Web services
Well I guess that is enough about me. See you around.

My name's Joe (JoeZeppy) and I've been with Server Beach for about 3 months now. I'm nervous that I'm in a bit over my head, but i needed root access for some of my sites (payment modules), and this seemed to work. I also have a lot of domains that I host small sites for.
My last host, changed things way too much. It caused many of my sites to stop working properly and I didin't want to see that happen again. Too much work.
I'm looking forward to sharing ideas and resources here.
Thanks,

Name's what it says, Tino Didriksen.
From Denmark in northern Europe, and currently a CompSci student.
Moved from a webhotel to ServerBeach around 2 months ago. What a relief to finally have 100% root access to the machine.
My primary use is my chat service, http://pjj.cc/, but I also have more general tinkering site, http://projectjj.dk/.
Otherwise, I just play around, have fun. I would really want to use the machine for my IRC statistics/logging bot, but unfortunately SB does not allow that.

Hey all, I like the idea of this forum, helps us all and Serverbeach :)
My name is Garner, I run Levels4you.com (http://www.levels4you.com), a gaming website that offers custom levels, maps, editors, modifications, movies etc on PC games.
Just entered the third month since I moved L4Y to Serverbeach, we are currently getting around 30,000 hits/day and our old server just couldn't cope anymore. After finding Serverbeach and not being too impressed at all with our old host I moved the site here. Not regretted it at all.
Everything I do is PHP/MySQL related, L4Y is all my own work.

I was very pleased to see this forum created too.
My name is Josh - and I do web design and UBB.Threads consulting. http://www.joshuapettit.com
I also host many of my clients' sites on 2 servers I've got from Server Beach.
This was my first venture into hosting - and I've been learning alot trial by fire - but I am very happy with Server Beach. :)

Hi all-
My name is Rich Gordon. I have been on the internet for 10 yrs
and have 2 autoresponder businesses, one for 2yrs and the
other just recently launched.
I have really pushed to have a forum as it is a teriffic tool if used
correctly. As serverbeach is a self manage server this tool will be
very valuable to all of us.
I look forward to buidling a "severbeach family" in this forum and
look forward to helping others and receiving help too :)
Rich
This seams kinda lame but what the heck :)
I'm Nate, I do a lot of different things really because of the area I live and the limited job availability I'm forced to learn a bit about everything.
I primarily develop web based and windows based solutions using Microsoft's .Net framework and c#. I also use Mono and DotGnu so that I can use C# and .net on Linux. I'm a big fan of Linux, Debian in particular, but due to the fact that I use .net and c# so much I’m stuck with windows. I do a lot of work with databases such as Oracle, mySQL, Microsoft sql and access too.
I also deal a lot with hardware too and replace/upgrade hardware and custom build PCs.
I have a server so that after I create solutions for my clients in .net/c# I can then host them.
I'm also looking for people to work with on my too many projects ;)
