Okay, I run a tech support service too so I know when some "I-pay-so-I-want-screaming-fast-solutions-no-matter-anything-else" people arise

Seems that only angry people write about poor tech support, so I must say that my experience with ServerBeach tech support has been *great*. I've only three support tickets closed and reply time was less than 5 hours. Last one issue was on Saturday so let me applause you.

 My server began to give general system input/output errors for any file-write operation (MySQL unable to write to /tmp, QMAIL being unable to write outgoing mail to the queue, any kind of file operation failed, etc).

:bang: Last minute backups and all the stuff. I had to put several websites that depended on external connections to my MySQL server at ServerBeach on 'running problems' messages.

Big disaster, search on forums and only references on input/output errors were possible hard disk failure. Well, it happens. I could request an OS reload / hard disk replacement but wanted some tech to look around. :flush:

Techs replied and asked me permission to perform a fsck that could fix the problems with filesystem or could mess it all.

Fsck *seemed to work* and techs pointed to some rapid-reboot operation, although I've made no rapid-reboot and have my server running for 60 days.

Well it is Sunday and all returned to be good :flirt:

Anyway, I expected to waste my Sunday on a "unzip-backups-and-restore-a-server-from-the-scratch", so big thanks to you all, specially to not give an OS reload as a "fast-solution" :)

Best regards!

Your know I use to think that.. I had four support tickets resolved fast, but my last ticket took 2 weeks to resolve and the current one has been open since 4/1/04 without a response. While I am not going to leave SB the support here is very poor.
