ftp stalls on wink2k server

I have been trying to upload several large file and the FTP hangs after a while. Anybody have this experience? The files range from 1 to 20 mB in size but the issue seems to be time on, not the size of the files being sent. The files consist of graphics and pdf's.

"ANY" input would be appreciated.

I've experienced sporadic hangs such as this on all the Win servers I've used. I'm afraid I don't have a solution- for me it's fairly infrequent, and doesn't cause me a lot of problems, so I just live with it.

One thing that helps- if I have a lot of individual files, I notice this much more often- it works better for me to zip them, transfer then unzip. Not a great solution, though...

I have had the same problem but on small files like wunderlin. If I zip them up first then no prob. I have especially noticed this between my win3k server and another serverbeach box I have. It transfers 20-30 files then hangs on Establishing Connection.

I found this VERY annoying as I had about 800 megs of small files to transfer. But zipping them up took care of the problem but I dont feel I should have had to do this.

I have never had this problem outside of Serverbeach and found it even stranger that it did it on their LAN. My first thought was a flaky network connection there.

I have no idea what is causing it but glad Im not the only one with the same problem.
