This has happened to me several times over the last couple of months.
Web Host Manager popped up and told me that my resolvers were not configured.
I am using ServerBeach's DNS so I entered this as the primary: 66.139.72.14 and this: 66.139.72.20 as the secondary.
All seemed fine. Then Web Host Manager says "Unable to fetch Web Host manager news. The news server may be down or unreachable."
I also cannot ping any outside domain or IP from the server - so it can no longer "see" outside to the rest of the net.
In the past - server beach told me it was because the named service was not running....
So I tried restartign named and it didn't work.
I even tried rebooting the server (as a last hope). :(
I have 2 servers, one works and one doesn't. So I tried to compare resolv.conf files etc... to find differences, but everything seems fine.
I opened a ticket - but wish I knew what causes this and most importantly how I can fix it. LOL
If anyone has any idea - I'd like to be more proactive and potentially know how to deal with this in the future.
