View Full Version : Automate DNS TOOL Script??
Hi there,
Is there anyone that have a php script to automate the task to setup domains in SBīs dns-tool?
We have a script that automate a complete setup of a webpackage that the customer signup for like instant setup, but it cannot handle SBīs dns-tool it is only writen for WHM and the server it is on.
So please if you have such script or if SB reads this post give me some feedback.

2maz... you should make your server a name server and make serverbeach slaves to your master name server.
when you make changes using the addon or subdomain tools in whm and cpanel, those changes will be reflected locally and then propogate to sb's dns servers.
the only thing you'll really have to do, if i'm not mistaken, is create the domains as slaves in the dns tool because i don't think it'll create new slave zones for you, just modify existing ones. that would make sense because there's no soa, i guess. if you can automate that, that would be neat.
if you're running a windows box, you might want to look at something like... http://www.iopus.com/iim.htm
otherwise, i'm sure you could do it with enough determination and know-how. i don't have the latter =T
Hi there Charlie,
As i said I already have the script that automates the account setup for WHM, but i wanted to skip having my own nameservers and would like to know if there is someone out there in this forum that have automated the dns-tool setup also, so that I can combine the signup to be complete "instant setup"..
Also IF i should make my own nameservers then i should not have to use SBīs dns-tool at all because then it calls MY own dns at the server.
So that is my second plan if I cannot get an automated "SB dns tool script" to work with my own "WHM instant automated setup script" that i already have fully working.
Here is a link to an article at IISFAQ.com. I believe it is what you
are looking for but not completely. You will need to build a php
script (or something) to get what you need, as I have to. I have
been looking for someting like that myself but, since I have been
looking so long without finding anything, I think I will just make one.
