Hello:

Not all web host providers have strict rules about what their customers put on their servers. I got a spam promoting a particularly nasty site with very crude hard core child pornography images. I have reported the site to several places, including interpol. But if the site remain on line after a reasonable period of time, should I consider using my best hacker tools to atack that site, even if this is also considered a "ciber crime"? Opinions?

Regards.

First, you should have posted this in the "Lounge" forum, which exists for offtopic posts ;)

Second I would advise you NOT to attempt to take matters into your own hands. By attempting to violate someone elses boxes and/or network you might end up facing criminal charges and/or legal action, even if you cause was noble.

It is commendable that you wish to put a stop to something very sick like child pornography, but if the site remains up I would respond by stepping up my efforts to put pressure on the relevant authorities to address the problem. That might mean writing letters to get others involved, like politicians or the media, to draw attention to the subject.

Hello,

Wise man once said 2 wrong's dont make a right. If the authorities have been notified, isp notified and everyone else then that's about all you can do. Besides maybe the authorities have been monitoring communications to and from that website to see who's using it. Sometimes things are best left alone.
