Hello,

I think I have my server address screwed. I ran a reverse DNS and here was my output.

------------- OUTPUT --------------------------------------------------------

How I am searching:
Asking a.root-servers.net for 142.76.002.44.in-addr.arpa PTR record:
a.root-servers.net says to go to dill.arin.net. (zone: 44.in-addr.arpa.)
Asking dill.arin.net. for 142.76.002.44.in-addr.arpa PTR record:
dill.arin.net says to go to ns1.swbell.net. (zone: 002.44.in-addr.arpa.)
Asking ns1.swbell.net. for 142.76.002.44.in-addr.arpa PTR record: Reports myserver.mydomain.com.

Answer:
44.002.76.142 PTR record: myserver.mydomain.com. [TTL 86400s] [A=None] *ERROR* A record does not point back to original IP.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

"myserver" is a name that I made-up when I ordered the server.

Somehow when I do a reverse DNS lookup, it does not like "myserver.mydomain.com"

Please comment and advise....

i'm confused. did you actually use "mydomain.com" or myserver as your server and domain name?

you MUST use a valid registered domain name that you own. are you not doing that?

Thanks for your response.

mydomain is a stub. The actual domain is "garrickbradley.com"
