Hello everyone,

I've searched the forums and ServerBeach FAQs but have not found any info on this for Windows servers.

How does everyone control bandwidth consumption?

I have a Win2003 Power Server.

Thanks for any help.

Best regards,

ajn

Although I haven't tested a windows 2003 server yet, in w2k server
in IIS 5 in the properties of the website, there is bandwidth throttling.

this may be what you are looking for.

Hi Ron,

Thank you for your reply.

Sorry, I must have expressed myself wrong.

My question was related to the bandwidth consumption. I know I have 900Gb/Month with my power server, but is there a way of knowing how much I have used already?

I believe bandwidth throttling has to do with limiting bandwidth on one or more sites. But that isn't the only net traffic the server produces.

Again thanks and sorry for not being so clear the first time.

Best regards,

ajn

There is a free program called Stats'n'Prefs that logs all traffic going in and out. It was designed for DSL and cable modem users, but I've installed it on my server and it works fine.

Try that :0)

Thanks in advance.

Hi ajn,

Here is the link to their page:

You can download and use the shareware version. It is not limited in any way I could tell. Just the usual popup windows asking to register and such. I have a registered version now (it only costs $12,95). I liked it so much I registered :D

Enjoy!
