hey everyone,
i have a windows 2000 server and have been hosting several sites for a couple months now. I had a few clients from before i got my SB server who were with a local web host that supplied them with SQL server. however for me to access the database i have to install SQL enterprise manager on a machine with a static IP address (so they can punch a hole in their firewallfor me to get in).
the problem is that i have the CD for SQL server 2000 and want to install the client tools on my computer but the x86 folder is liek 250 MB and is not the easiest thing to upload to my server via FTP. isnt there another way to install software from a cd to our server?
i use a windows XP machine and remote desktop to connect to my server and there is an option in remote desktop to give the server access to my local drives but it does nto seem to work.
any tips or advice here woudl be great!
Thanks!!
