I can go into WHM into config backup but I get an error saying
backup is not a directory..
Backup has been disabled to prevent file loss..
/backup does not exist..
Backup has been disabled to prevent file loss..
Backup Configuration Saved!
when I hit save.
I need to know how to make the backup dir I think.
Sorry for my ignorance I am just learning

you will have to ssh into your account and create the backup directory also make sure you select the options.
Backup Accounts Enabled Disabled
Backup Config Files (not needed to restore specific accounts)
Per Accounts and Entire Mysql Dir
once backup is created you will have to download the files to a remote location

Thank you very much those were the few key strokes I have been trying to find for the last 7 hours. I have searched high and low for plain newbie type info on how to do things and I can find info but it always looks so complicated and never applies to my simple tasks.
Thanks again

So I asume the back up will be done sometime tonight. How do I download the backup to my computer? Is that done thru ssh and if so what command. Or can it be done via ftp ?
Thanks

I have a drive that is about to fail and will be getting it replaced soon. I have regular nightly backups, but would also like to do a backup just before they start doing work so I can have the most accurate restore possible.
When doing /scripts/cpbackup I get the message: daily backup is up to date. How can I force a new backup? Or where is it looking to check if its current? I have deleted all the files in /backup/cpbackup/daily to try and get this to work.
Also, when I restore this backup, will it restore my server settings as well? How complete is the restore of settings and other installed software like zendoptimizer. etc???
