Hello all,

I am newbie to windows 2003 server.
May I know how do you all backup your windows server (HELM contro Panel)?

Can I do it like backup and restore like cpanel ?

I thought I was experiencing deja vu for a moment.

Anyways, I just have a series of automated backup scripts that write to a location on my second hard drive and then I throw it off to another server.

Kyle,

Would it be possible to post or share your scripts? What I am doing right now isn't optimal and I'd like to see what others are doing (successfully).

Yea I started another thread in Windows Server about this, since SB is offering the FTP space now, I'm looking at using Paragon's Drive Image or something.

The one in the link you provided looked good and was cheap as well.

When I backup stuff do I need to do the whole C drive or is there a short list of the important things I wouldn't think I need to backup software installs.

Unfortunately I couldn't do that as I have clients that have purchased variations of my setup and scripts for their own purposes. So, it'd be a little unfair to them to have to pay for it and then I give it away for free on a forum. I get the same reaction when I tell people that I wrote code that communicates with the Helm API and integrates hosting plans into a website and ties it all into Helm's automated signup system. ie: Everything related to plans on this (http://www.shadowsitesusa.com/managed.asp) page and the "read more" links is dynamically generated from Helm.

I don't know if you've checked WHA forums, but there are a few other examples there. Maybe you can find little things you can piece together yourself.
