View Full Version : Configuring Frontpage Server Extensions 2002
I get an error when trying to configure them for my website...
the error is..
"Unable to read configuration for microsoft information server"
Under web services I see that they are allowed...What else must I do in order to enable them for my site?
Thanks in advance..
Rob C.
I managed to figure out the problem.
I didn't have the sharepoint site runnng...

There are some security considerations you need to take into account when using Sharepoint. I found all I needed to know on the MS website by Googling on the following:
sharepoint security site:microsoft.com
Basically if you have the correct network security rules in place, and are using application hardening rules to keep people from messing with Sharepoint you should be alright. On a scale of 1 to 10, ten being the highest risk, I personally would rate Sharepoint at 3-4. Again, that's based on my personal experience with it. Your results may vary depending upon what you're using it for.
