I've heard that there is a remote gui interface for redhat. I can't find any information on it :( would any one be able to help me?

To get a remote GUI you'd need to install the whole X Window System package.

Better go with SSH and Webmin, or what other controlpanel you have...

SSH is already installed, and webmin is installed if there are no other control panels installed (like Plesk, Ensim, Cpanel).
The X packages can be found at ftp.redhat.com or any other redhat mirror.

If you're referring to having Plesk and installing X, there wouldn't be any problems (aside from it being a complete waste of time ;))

Plesk controls all of the relevant server configurations, and any other customization would have to be done through a terminal anyway .. so you'd end up installing 500MB of packages so you can open up an xterm (which happens to look just like a PuTTy ssh session).

I know I'm a day late and a dollar short, but just in case anyone else interested, here's a quick howto made up some forum posts from a while back (just in case someone else might find it helpful):

http://www.spoonix.com/howtos/vnc.txt

Basically gives you an example of using ssh or VNC to fire up X clients.

There is at least one dain-bread installer that insists on having a local X server running on the machine (*cough*Oracle*cough*), but it's the only case I know of.
