I'll just explain this quickly:

I deleted the default site (of course), and have added 3 sites. www.site1.com, www.site2.com, www.site3.com.

All three have host headers, since I only have 1 IP. And the host headers are set properly.

www.site1.com works just fine. But when I go to www.site2.com, IE shows a login prompt (username, password, domain). If I enter my servers admin username and pass, I can view the site. But I want this site to be viewable by anyone.

What am I doing wrong? I checked the permissions of the folders for all three sites, and they are exactly the same....

Is the site set to use Basic Authentication or Windows Authentication? The latter can sometimes cause those symptoms if your local PC is logged on with a matching username.

I'm not exactly sure why this fixed the problem, but all I did was delete the sites and folders and recreated them. Now host headers works just fine! Thanks for taking the time to reply though.

You may of have anonymous access either unselected or had it set for a user that didn't have permission or had the wrong password.

Glad it's fixed though.
