Welp, having been on my 100Mb port for a few days, I finally had a chance to do some performance tweaking of my TCP stack.
I've been able to push my connection to around 70Mb/s sustained (for several minutes) and I'm bursting slightly higher then that.
To put it in perspective, 70Mb/s is approximately 8.75MB/s. That's an MP3 every second, or a full DVD in under 10 minutes.
Oh, and for the record, these tests were performed over the net to a data center in another city. Downloads from Verisign's gTLD root (FTP server) are even faster, but that's cheating since they're in the same facility and only 2ms away.
So yeah, I like the Peer1 network :)
