On my second HD I occasionally see a WUTemp folder being created. I am not creating it. I know it can be created automatically when dealing with CD burning. But in my experience the folder has always been created on the boot drive for the OS. Can anyone help me figure out why this is happening? Thanks.
WUTEMP = Windows Update Temp
It's created when you do upgrades to your server from windowsupdate.microsoft.com
Now I'm not sure why it puts it on all drives but my theory is that it finds the drive with the most space to use as the Temp drive.
You will probably find it empty unless in the middle of downloading/installing updates.

Hi Chris.
Thanks for explaining the naming convention. I did in fact just do a Windows Update and right after that the folder appeared. It was empty after the update.
Problem solved. Thanks again.
