If this is a linux server:
To change the hostname:
Edit the files:
/etc/hosts
/etc/sysconfig/network
Run the commands:
hostname NEWHOSTNAME
/etc/rc.d/init.d/detectchange start
/etc/rc.d/init.d/webppliance restart
/etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd restart
The hostname must be the same in the two files and from the hostname command
If this is a Windows server, you can change the hostname by right clicking on "My Computer" and going to properties, then click on Network Identification.

All I see is only a way to change the computer name. I have a default name that Server Beach gave me. Which is server24
In Windows, the "computer name" is the hostname unless you are a part of an active directory domain. Are you referring to something else?
If you are installing Webppliance yourself, you set the FQDN during installation.

I try setting the FQDN during my setup of ensim just doesn't go the admin page. When trying to setup my FQDN the way you posted up there by right clicking my computer I dont see that in the properties.
If you set your FQDN during the Ensim Webppliance installation, but you cannot access http://your.fqdn.com/admin/, it probably means that the FQDN you chose does not resolve. You need to make sure that the FQDN resolves via DNS, otherwise you will have to access the Webppliance login by the IP address ( http://ipaddress/admin/ ). If you can post your FQDN or PM it to me, I can help you verify that it resolves properly. The "Computer Name" in Windows really has nothing to do with the FQDN you set in Webppliance. :)
It looks like you do not have Ensim Webppliance installed at all. Did you purchase a server with Ensim, or did you install it yourself?

installed it myself
Not sure where to go from here. When I go to http://IPADDRESS/admin/ I get a 404 which means Ensim is either not installed, not installed correctly, or not running. When I looked up the hostname, it didn't resolve. However, the real issue here is that Ensim isn't working.
Since you purchased this from Ensim, I would recommend going to them and utilizing their support. :)

thats what I did also. I paid moola for them to install it remotely. Still they haven't done anything. I might as well get a refund and wait intill ensim rolls around for sb win 2k3 servers.

FYI:
There is a hotfix @ Ensim's Support Web site to solve this problem:
http://onlinesupport.ensim.com/TWKB/ViewCase.asp?QSRuleID=717&QSType=ALL&QSKeyword=change~hostname&QSSortby=SCORE&QSCatid=277&QSInt1=0&QSCat1=277&QSTop1=0&QSDescType=P&QSMatchType=E&QSStatus=ALLPUB&QSFromFileName=ListRules&QSSearchResult=SR&QSReturn=&CurrentPage=1
Just adding my spoonful of sugar to the cake, if indeed it is a cake.
Hope it helps
