Recomplie PHP and Apache, is this ok?

I need to recomplie PHP to add GD support, and recomplie apache for another issue on my server that has REd Hat 7.3 and CPanel installed. Does anyone know if this is ok and if it will affect CPanel in away? In others words, has anyone done this with Cpanel installed already? How did it go? Everything still works? ;-) Please post your thoughts.

Well I went ahead and did this, WHM rebuilt everything for me. All I did was check mark GD, and pressed "BUILD"...scary crap....

It all worked, and now my PHP supports GD. I am once again a happy camper. ;-)
