Sponsored listing or natural listing?

I found this place from a friend's forum. I run Webmaster-Forum.net - he runs WebmasterForum.com, (His name's Ian.)

He recommended SB, I checked the speed of connections, and was sold. :D

Natural listing, before they went public. Been with them from the beginning and so far, I'm happy. A few bumpy roads on the way but..not everyone starts at the top, right? Connections are great, I don't require much support so that's a plus ;)..their support is stepping up and so far, all is well at the Beach. :D

I initially learned about it through a banner ad on good old Slashdot (http://slashdot.org/).

The only time I've ever found advertisements useful, actually. But it sure was useful...I really like SB.

TechTV, used to watch all the time. But now that station sucks, nothing but cartoons and fighting robots.

From of all things an email newsletter I did not subscribe to and was about delete as spam. Ironically it came right when I was looking for a new host.

Yes, the "powers that be" seem to have lost sight of "tech" on that station. But the two shows that Leo Laporte does are still good (The Screen Savers and Call for Help). :)

The Screen Savers plays here right during prime time, really no good to me now that they dont re-air it at night any more.

Everytime I check for something, it is cartoons, and robots. Arg, what a loss.

Recent news from Leoville - The Screen Savers will be starting nightly midnight (eastern) repeats again September 29th.

Rumor also has it that TechTV is up for sale. We can only hope someone buys it that wants to see "Tech" on TV.

Rackspace isn't a competitor of ServerBeach, being that they're targeting two totally different markets. There are a couple of threads on this forum, as well as a mention of the relation on ServerBeach's website (much news from google.com ;)). Where you heard that Rackspace is out of servers is beyond me, but I'm willing to place a bet that it isn't true. :)

I believe dconderm was thinking of rackSHACK, not rackspace.

ObTopic: I found SeverBeach through word of mouth. :D

I actually heard about it through a friend, but he found it through a google search.

I think we hit upon a good place. Once they figure out support issues, everything should be gravy.

I hear about ServerBeach nearly everyday since I am a TechTV Addict! :)

I got a DirecTV system back in the 90's just so I could get ZDTV (now TechTV).

For those of you who do not know...
The must see shows on TechTV are:

- The Screen Savers
- Call For Help
- XPlay
- Tech Live

I agree w/ too much anime and lame bot wars on tech tv, but with TIVO it's like that stuff never exists. They're also reairing TSS the next morning.

I first heard of SB from tech tv as well.

Yes, TiVo and TechTV is the perfect combination!

Yeah, some of the new shows are not for me. It use to be that I could turn on TechTV anytime of the day, but now, there's only the few great shows, but they are GREAT!

I heard about ServerBeach on The Screen Savers (TechTV). Kevin Rose mentioned serverbeach, and I think he even mentioned being a serverbeach customer.

Then I started seeing SB commercials on TechTV not too long after that.

Merry Christmas in 90 days

Back at ya. :D

I'm trying to get more dedicated hosting discussions going over there, but it's kind of slow taking off. Perhaps I need more avatars like this:
