I just bought a dedicated server. The main domain name is Brevig.org.
When you go there it points to the ip address and the default apached page.
How can i set it up so my web site comes up?
Also how can i set the email addresses up in cpanel.
I go to add email account but where i would choose the domain name there's non to pick from.
I'm not sure if i'm making sense. I'll put some screen shots up with my next post.

Do you have any knowledge of cPanel? If not, you should check out the documentation on cpanel.net. There is tons of information there to help you set up your email (cpanel.net -> documentation -> how do I use cpanel -> email) along with learning many other things.
To set up your website so people actually see brevig.org:
Configure cPanel properly. ;) ie: add your domains to cPanel and it configures everything for you. That's the entire idea of having a control panel. :D

I can't add the domain to cpanel since it's the servers hostname.
I'm wondering how i can login and edit the cpanel for my main domain.
I've used cpanel with other hosts before, but never had my own dedicated to play with.
I know how to add email accounts to cpanel, but cpanel isn't letting me pick a domain name.
Hope that makes sense

Then you need to change the hostname of your server. cPanel and most other control panels do not allow this (adding the hostname of the server as a domain).

There is no "main" domain. Every domain has to be added through cPanel. You cannot use the hostname of your server as one of those domains.

Because you haven't added any yet. ;)
How do you change the hostname of your server?
To change the hostname:
Edit the files:
/etc/hosts
/etc/sysconfig/network
Run the commands:
hostname NEWHOSTNAME
/etc/rc.d/init.d/cpanel3 restart
The hostname must be the same in the two files and from the hostname command

You need to type out the commands above, not cd into the directories. :)
And it's "cpanel" not cpanel3, my apologies.
