I have my email account set up in Outlook Express. However, I can send email, but I can't receive any. I can check it through the web just fine, but I would like to also receive it through Outlook Express.

I have the incoming and outgoing mail servers set as the same. What else can I do to make sure I can receive email through Outlook Express? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have any errors you can post?

Make sure your server actually has POP3 service running on it.

Thank you for the quick reply. Actually, there are no errors to report on Outlook Express -- nothing pops up. I can send email fine...but I can only receive emails using the Squirrel webmail. So, when I send myself an email, I can only receive it on the web and not on Outlook Express.

It says that I have a POP3 + Imap Server on my admin. Anything else I should try?

If you leave Squirrelmail open, Squirrelmail will
get it before Outlook can download it.

The only other thing that I can think of is double check and make sure that you've set up Outlook correctly.

Well...I don't have Squirrel webmail open at the same time. I gave myself at least 15 minutes (after sending a test email) on Outlook Express before checking it on Squirrel webmail. I can receive emails through Squirrel webmail immediately upon checking it there. In fact, I sent a test email last night and checked it this morning -- it did not show up when I checked Outlook first but it did show up when I checked Squirrel after.

I went through all my settings and can't find anything wrong. I guess I'm just out of luck on this one -- thanks for your help! :)

Is this a Standard Linux Server? Any control panels?

Yes, it says that my mail server is mail.mydomain.com. I don't see anywhere else to alter/edit my email settings. The thing is, shouldn't this be easy to the point that I shouldn't have to alter anything for my email account?

I mean, I know how Outlook Express works (I have 3 other accounts running on there) and everything is set up correctly.

I meant your server at ServerBeach...
Is it a linux server? Does it have any control panel? Which? :)

I found what the mistake was.....in my incoming mail settings, I simply had my username (and not the @mydomain.com after). I did not have to use this setting for my other email accounts using Outlook Express, so I figured it would work -- and it obviously didn't.

At any rate, thank you for all of your help and time on this issue. Perhaps this can be used as a learning lesson for other people in case they have problems running Outlook Express :) Thanks again!
