Anyone else have a problem with PORT numbers in the 6,000 stalling using running Pure FTP? I ex nayyed ProFTP and switched to Pure FTP. It works well but when I upload to my server using WS FTP software...WS FTP changes random port numbers upon uploading each file, and when it hits on a port number in the 6,000 range...there is about a 20 to 30 second stall, then it will resume and upload the file...
Any ideas or anyone else seen this? Do I need to ex nay WS FTP?

Certain ports in the 6000 range are blocked, so if the FTP client tries to use them it will get a timeout and try another port.
Ports 6667-6669 are very likely blocked (standard IRC ports). May be more in that range.

I must need to get some other FTP software then. I wonder why WS FTP software doesn't already know that. It seems odd that it keeps changing port numbers after each file it uploads...

The FTPd doesn't know what ports that are blocked on the router. It shouldn't need to know either.
And the port changing part...well, that's FTP for you. Not the best protocol for transfering files. Actually it's pretty poor at it...
You could go a long way by using rsync or similar. This does require a local mirror of the tree you want to sync, though, but if used properly it's very effective.
I was thinking about switching to pure-ftp. However, I have one main concern.
* No cPanel Access Log or Bandwidth Stats
Does the above mean it defeats the bandwidth quota set for that account? I don't really care for the stats and logs. I just don't want a member transfering over 900GB of files over ftp.
No one can answer my question? I think it's quite important to know.

Ah no...it does not defeat the bandwidth. Server beach monitors bandwidth at the SWITCH. So regardless what you do or see in your server logs, would not match what server beach sees at the switch, which is all traffic in and out of your IP.

Server beach monitors bandwidthHowever, the question was about the bandwidth quota per user, which I believe has nothing to do with SB.
As for the question...no clue, I don't use cPanel.
What Tino said.
I know serverbeach monitors my bandwidth. If serverbeach doesn't do that, then I wouldn't care how much bandwidth my users use.
I don't know how cpanel keeps track of bandwidth use. I'm concern that cpanel wouldn't be able to keep track of how much bandwidth each user user after switching to pure-ftp.
I don't want any user exceeding their bandwidth quota.
