Hello all,
I cannot seem to configure my Dreamweaver FTP upload options...it just won't connect. I have tried all my passwords and usernames, but no luck. I also have been using my correct file root as far as I know...Any Dreamweaver users out there who can help with this? I can still upload my files using Webmin, but it would be much easier and faster with Dreamweaver...Thanks.

Do you have an FTP daemon running on the server?

I don't think so actually. It says ProFTPD is not installed on my system. Do I need to install this or is there a different way?

Yep, you need to install it. Or if you want I think WS FTPd is included in per standard.
However, ProFTPd is better. RPMs for ProFTPd, depending on your RH version:
RH 9.0: http://shrike.freshrpms.net/rpm.html?id=873
RH 8.0: http://psyche.freshrpms.net/rpm.html?id=906
RH 7.3: http://valhalla.freshrpms.net/rpm.html?id=530
Webmin also has a ProFTPd module for ease of config, once installed.

Thanks for those links...I just installed it. Now, do I need to create a virtual FTP server for each of my websites? I am going to read up on it, but if you have a quick answer, that would be good too. Thanks.

Well, depends on how you've set up your server.
I use /home/username/public_html for my websites, so I've just configured ProFTPd to allow people to access their own /home/username dir via it. There's an option for that.
But if you use /var/www/html or something like that then you might need to make a seperate config for it.

I seem to be having a problem here. Apparently, when I attempt to connect, initially, it connects, because it states "Host Found, connecting..." but then, it states that the directory I entered in, which is /var/www/html/mysite_x, is not found. Any thoughts anyone?
