Any RHCEs wandering around here?

Since the Redhat 7.1 RHCE expires at the end of the year when The 7.x series gets EOL'ed, I finally got around to taking the RedHat 9 RHCE. It isn't much of a leap from the 7.x series RHCE (though I can't tell you what changed because of the NDA, sorry) and I recommend it for anyone interested in keeping their certificates up-to-date. Shouldn't be a problem for a seasoned administrator to just walk in and pass. :)

I think that after 6 years of Linux administration, if I failed this test I would resign and get my minesweeper certification ;) Yes, I did pass .. I skipped the training classes this year (last year I spent 2 weeks playing Maelstrom and Gataxx during the 153 and 253 class) and walked in cold. Seems the training may have made me dumber anyway .. my score this year was 0.5% higher than last year.

Judging just by that statement, I'll assume that you scored high...nice job (especially for walking in cold and taking it).
It's nice to know that the person handling your server knows what they're doing.

BTW...remember when you sent me that e-mail when you went to recompile the kernel without the network drivers on my server and.....

(for those of you who don't know how I post on here....I'm kidding.)

I was hoping for higher this year, but I only got a 96.47% :p I think some of the "correct" answers were actually wrong, but I'm the stubborn type who will pick the right answer regardless of what the person grading the test thinks. Since when does server administration consist of multiple choice anyway? I suppose if you're the BOFH type it could be: Who should I lart today: john, joe, bob, or jane?

Tsk tsk .. I suppose you want your server and be able to use it too? Hehe. That is one of the common mistakes people make when doing remote kernel upgrades .. leave out the ethernet module :)
