I upgraded to latest version cpanel, and now AWstats are, ... um.. gone. I click on the AWstats thing and it says:

Did you try to upgrade to an unstable release?

What procedures did you take to upgrade? What version did you upgrade to? I believe 7.2 is the latest stable release.

It says cPanel 7.4.2. I just clicked on something. I really shouldn't have done that. I have a server admin who does that stuff....

Any way to change it back?

Geez cPanel moves fast with their versioning. Last time I looked at the install system we were installing 7.2.x .. servers that went online today have cPanel 8.2.0-RELEASE_28 installed. We gave up putting the version number on our web page since they seem to change it so often. I know upgrading is easy (almost too easy, eh?) but I am not so sure about moving backwards. Have you checked out the cPanel forums?

Huh. I'll check that out. I could just disable AWstats and wait for another stable version, right?

In the last several days, I upgraded to Redhat 9, and my server downgraded itself from 8.2 to 7.x without harm (maybe 8.2 doesn't work with RH9 yet? not sure); several versions of cPanel have had serious violent exploding errors when they were downgraded to the previous major version but it seems that 8.2 -> latest 7.x release is not one of them.

They were only on 7 for a month or two, IIRC.

As of today's date, 7.4.2 is still the "Stable" version available. Unless you are a testing lab - WHM update preferences should be set to install only stable versions.

Of course, if you enjoy living on the wild side..... go for bleeding edge releases. *giggle*
