Hi, does anyone have experience with setting up a windows 2003 server with Plesk to function with mailenable, active directory and ms-exchange server?

I don't intend to use exchange or active directory for Plesk domains, but I will need mailenable to allow domain users to access their webmail.

:help:

Suggestions seem to be scattered or incomplete so I was hoping to start a thread that walks through each step starting with:
1) installation and setup of active directory
2) installation and setup of ms-exchange server
3) configuring the ports considering mailenable is already installed and needs to work with Plesk.

And yes, I have read the external threads etc, but, I want to hear from first account experienced admins who have actually setup these technologies to function efficiently, and who can offer tips based on their experience.

Must acquire additional IP addresses if planning to use multiple mail servers. To remain compliant, each mail server needs to operate on standard ports and the only solution is to acquire additional IP addresses.

Successfully installed MS-Exchange Server
Successfully installed MS-Project Server
Successfully installed Active Directory

Still working out how to get certain software to recognize the Exchange user accounts. I think this is where I need to learn a lot more about DNS crap.

So, my SMTP email system was not working because you can only have one SMTP per ip address. I figured I would get another ip address; use the original ip address for my business (setup as exclusive) and the new ip to host my Plesk and client accounts (setup as shared).

==========================================

After doing what the previous posts outlined, I had to contact the provider where I purchased my domain name and have my domain name upgraded to a DNS. (this was a $5 fee).

I then had to purchase a new IP address from ServerBeach (this was a $1 monthly fee) and then register the IP within the server under network connections...add a new ip address.

Then I had to go back to my dns provider and tell it to point to my original ip so that I can configure the other ip to be for plesk clients.

===========================================

I successfully installed the verizon wireless exchange server monitor that wirelessly syncs my Treo700wx data (notes, files, tasks, calendar) onto the server and sends/receives my email to the device. Now I can login to the Exchange web interface (Microsoft Web Outlook) and handle all my business: calendar, tasks, email, notes....or....use choose to work from the windows mobile because now they stay synced.

Now there are other issues that I will address later.:rtfm:
