Greetings,
Are there plans to provide Windows Server 2008 as an option for new servers?

It is something I'm interested in seeing what offerings Server Beach are planning with Windows Server 2008.
Cheers,

Just a heads up guys: I've talked to a member of product management here at SB and while we are working on bringing 2008 to our offerings, we don't yet have an ETA. Sorry I don't have more, but at least it's something. :)
I can haz some Windows 2008 too??

Sign me up in the "definitely want 2008 ASAP"
However, almost as badly as I'd like 2008, I'd like to get a clean 2003 image rather then the butchered converted-from-FAT monster that we currently get :(
Luckily 2008 is less tolerant of some of the crap that gets done to the 2003 images during deployment, so hopefully someone will build a much cleaner image this time.
Fingers crossed, anyway.

I am very interested in getting Windows Web Server 2008...
Hi guys - I've got an update on this and it looks like we'll be offering it within the next couple of months. Sorry I don't have an exact date, but it will definitely be within the next 2 months.
Months is a very long time and I have a feeling SB will lose a lot of business to other server providers already offering Windows 2008

I'm not too worried about that happening. While other providers may offer something before ServerBeach - that doesn't necessarily mean that they'll have a better experience over there. :)

Do you know if you will be able to support Plesk on this platform, also will it possible to "Upgrade" my account from Windows Server 2003 to 2008?
Cheers,
Jas

I'm planning on just ordering a new server with Server 2008 on it, give myself a week or two to migrate all my stuff over, then cancel my old (2003) server.
I'd recommend the same approach to everyone else who wants to upgrade to 2008.

Good morning Jas. It is not possible to upgrade. You will need to either back up your server and have it reloaded with Windows 2008 or order a new server with 2008 to migrate over to.

That's why I had "Upgrade" in double quotes ;-)
I was more interested in an account point of view. The most important thing for me at the moment is if Plesk is supported (I know everyone hates it but my needs are small and it works for me :) )
P.s. QT what is your pleasure, Dark (Or as we call it in the UK Plain) or milk chocolate (Or both) I plan a visit to the local store and the post office :)

I will find out the answer to your Plesk question just as soon as the person I need to ask about it gets out of a meeting.
My pleasure? Milk chocolate all the way! :)
Okay Jas, this is what I've found out - Plesk 8.3 will be supported with the Windows 2008 Data Center Edition.

That sounds an expensive option. I have no need for the data centre version. Looks like I may have to stay with Windows 2003 Server then.
Thanks for finding out.
