Hello,

Haven't been here in a while so I thought I would ask a few questions. 1st, I would like to know how many websites do others have on their windows server. We currently have around 30 and haven't seen any slow downs whatsoever. Only a handful of them get any significant traffic. I've heard of servers running thousands of websites, so I was just curious on other's opinions of how many websites can go on a windows 2003 server.

2nd, I've been thinking about upgrading to a new windows 2008 server in the near future. No real reason other than I like to stay up to date with the OS. Is there any advantages with 2008 over 2003?

P.S. Just would like to say thanks to the Beach for keeping our server running flawlessly with no network downtime for yet another year:thumbsup:.

Number of websites depends on a number of factors:
1. Server Hardware (memory, drive speed, cpu, network card speed)
2. What sites actually do. For example are they just html, or are they php, or cold fusion or asp or .net
3. Amount of traffic the sites get.

Its basically impossible to just give you a fixed number as there are alot of variables.

The most we have on a single server at the moment is about 200, but there's considerable room to grow.
