View Full Version : ssl setup
This is the first time i've ever seen this happen:
Just got a server with serverbeach, and all ssl connections to the box fail.
Through when i connect via apache, i get a "ssl key is that same as server" message. When trying to connect via ssl through imap, it just says the ssl negotiation has failed.
Connections via ssh works just fine.
Any ideas?
Mike.

Are you using any control panel on your server?
Do you have a certificate? What domain is your certificate for?
Have you checked your httpd.conf files to make sure the domain is set up with the directive for the SSL server (port 443)?

No, i generally just use selfsigned certs. However, its been my experience with fresh redhat installs that ssl for apache and imap work out of the box, hence the confusion.
Perhaps I need to create a new self signed certificate for the box. Apaches are installed in /etc/httpd/conf/ssl.crt && .key
where are they stored for imapd's purposes?

Its not currently, because I am setting up the other virtual domains at the moment, so i just have one virtualhost live at the moment.

Okay.
Problems solved.
