OK, I've been carefull to search through all of the threads for existing information (boy, there's a lot of it) but I still have a question....

I would like to change....

Primary DNS 66.139.72.6
Secondary DNS 66.139.72.22

... in the Network Settings panel to point to my IP.

How can I change this?

I'm using Ensim Pro on Windows 2003

I found this information on Ensim's site:

Changing the network settings

Before creating domains, you may have to enter the network settings using the WEBppliance 3.0 interface if you received the server with WEBppliance pre-installed or if you clicked Later in the Network Settings window while installing WEBppliance

Procedure: To enter the network settings:

1 Access the WEBppliance server through the console or terminal services.

2 Click Start -> Programs -> Ensim WEBppliance -> Network Configuration. This opens the Network Settings window.

3 If your network settings are properly configured, they are automatically detected and displayed. In case there is no network card or the settings are not proper, the network settings fields will be blank. You can enter the network settings. For more information about these settings see step 8 on page 3-5.

4 Restart the WEBppliance server.

You may also need to change the IP address, host name or gateway of the WEBppliance server. These changes affect the way the WEBppliance interface is accessed.

Procedure: To change the IP address, host name, or gateway of the WEBppliance server:

1 Access the WEBppliance server through the console or terminal services.

2 Change the desired network settings by clicking, Start -> Settings -> Network and Dialup Connections.

3 Change the DNS entries to reflect the new settings.

4 Click Start -> Programs -> Ensim WEBppliance -> Network Configuration and selecting the connection to modify.

5 This opens the Network Settings window. Enter the new settings.

6 Restart the WEBppliance server.

But, when I go to " Start -> Programs " I don't see Ensim WEBppliance.

You probably don't need to change these settings .. those are the ServerBeach caching nameservers which you should be using for DNS resolution. You should not change it unless you have some specific reason to do so. As for where to change settings, you can log into the Ensim WEBppliance web-based interface via http://ipaddr/admin/ and change settings there.

So, if even if I want to use my own DNS, then don't change them?

There's no place that I can tell (in Ensim) to make the changes...

Although.... it does appear to be working, but I don't think it's using MS DNS on the local machine. How can I tell? There don't appear to be any entries (when I open DNS on the machine).

The DNS servers in the network settings are used for normal DNS resolution whether you are hosting DNS on your server or not. Even our nameservers do not use themselves for resolving hostnames .. this is a major security risk. In fact, no authoritative nameserver should be used for everyday DNS resolution. If one of your customers decided to add something like "microsoft.com" in their control panel, then they could potentially hijack web connections from your server to those domains (instead of Windows Update, you're installing the latest 0day warez backdoor ;)). This is why we provide the caching nameservers for everyday DNS resolution.

I am not sure what Ensim uses to set up DNS services on Windows, I am more of a Linux guy. I imagine it would use the MS DNS services that are already there. Of course some very old beta versions of Ensim actually installed BIND for the DNS services. :)

Well, originally, MS DNS was not installed. I requested for it to be installed, which I received confirmation that is was this morning.

I have a couple domains using ns1.mydomain.com as their only Name Server.

Both domains work, and point to the sites (on my SB server) I've created through Ensim... However, I tried to ad an A-Rec for ___.mydomain.com and point it to my Linux box, and it didn't work... Now, all I did was add an A-Rec for ns1.mydomain.com and point it to my SB IP address and it's all working....

The weird thing is... when I open MS DSN, there are no records. I can't tell if BIND or anything like that is installed... I don't see it in task manager, unless it's under a name I wouldn't recognize. I'm just trying to figure out where Ensim is creating these DNS entries. Is it using SB's Name Servers or my server? The only way it would be pointing to my server is if SB changed it when they installed MS DNS, which I guess they could have.... But, where are the records being created?
