Mail Help
This is driving me crazy :-).
I run a virtual server hosted here at Server Beach that has about 50+ domains on it. The problem is: that many of our clients emails (including my own) get rejected from AOL, Comcast and places like that ... they say we're sending spam.
Last week I asked Server Beach to setup a reverse dns for us ... and they did ... but that did not solve the problem.
I want email to work for all our hosted sites.
So I ask here for help in hopes that I can solve this once and for all ... and for all the sites on my server. I know I can't be the only one with this problem :-).
Another clue is ... there is always mail in our mail queue.
I know for sure that our clients are not sending spam ... I know each one personally have have worked with them ouver the years. They do have mailing lists of their customers ... like newsletters etc etc. but they are all legitimate business's in my area.
Any suggestions would really be welcomed and appreciated.
Where to start solving this problem?
Any suggestions would really be welcomed and appreciated.
Thanks much in advance.
ps.
I am running the typical Linux, Apache setup, of which (unfortunately) I do not have extensive knowledge of. WHM and Cpanel also.
I can give more details if needed.
I REALLY, REALLY want to solve this once and for all!

Try checking your forwarded email. If you're forwarding email from domain aliases to customer's pre-existing email addresses, you might be inadvertently forwarding all their spam as well and it's possible the destination ISP is seeing it as you sending spam (coming from your server? You're guilty). I ran into this and had to add forwarded email to the spam filter and then let the ISP know to check me again.

This is a weekly task for me mostly with AOL.
Have you setup a feedback loop with AOL? http://postmaster.aol.com/
You mention your customers have newsletters and mailing lists that they send to people at AOL. Guess what your customers customers are the ones probably causing you the most problems along with what wknopes hit on.
Say one of your customers sends a newseltter out and when their customers whom use AOL receive it decide they don't want it anymore instead of unsubscribing the first thing they do is hit the "This is spam" button in AOL that is where your getting tagged from AOL for spam.
Also like wknopes said and I have this problem alot customers will setup forwards/alises to their AOL accounts and if they get spam they click the "This is spam" button natually but instead of blocking the true sender they block you cause you sent it from your server.
