    Geodns and AAAA records

    Hi all,

I'm currently running DNS with my server as primary, and ns1/ns2.geodns.net. Everything has been fine to date, but now I'm starting to use IPv6 in anger, I notice that none of the AAAA records seem to be available from these two slaves, only from my primary.

The SOA record is the same on all three servers, and other changes I've made are available, so NOTIFY is working, it's just that geodns seems to silently discard AAAA during the zone transfer.

Is this supported? Are there some other authoritative servers I should be using as slaves to get AAAA support?

    Thanks and regards,
    Tim.

    Hi Tim,
Unfortunately, support for AAAA records is not available on the geodns.net platform at this time. These will obviously be built in at some point, but for specifics you may have to speak with your Account Manager.

Thanks Christoph - is this just a geodns thing? If I switch to ns1/ns2.peer1.net as my secondaries (assuming I can do this), do I get working AAAA records? Or is it all the same platform?

    Hi Tim,
It's actually all the same platform, so AAAA records will not work on either at this time.

    Thanks and best regards,
